Hampton Estate
The land used for the Woodland Woggle belongs to the Hampton Estate, a private estate which we use with the kind permission of the owners Bridget and Bill Beddell. Race HQ is at Myrtles Courtyard. This is where you need to go to get your race number before the race. It’s also where the race finishes, and where you can get tea, coffee, etc. The courtyard is very close to the free car park area so most people leave their bags in their car.
Directions
The free race car park is reached via either Littleworth Road or Suffield lane by The Tarn Lake at Cutmill. Please see the map below. The postcode is GU10 1JH. Whatever your SatNav says, please DO NOT try and get to the car park via the estate entrance by Seale Entrance Lodge – the roads within the estate will be closed before, during, and after the race.
Race HQ – Myrtle’s Courtyard
Race HQ is at Myrtle’s Courtyard. This is where you need to go to get your race number before the race. It’s also where the race finishes, and where you can get tea, coffee, etc. The courtyard is very close to the free car park area (300m) so most people leave their bags in their car. There are toilets in and around the courtyard. Myrtle’s Courtyard is a no smoking venue. Straw and hay are stored in the adjacent Dutch barns and smoking is not allowed between the parking area and the courtyard.
After the race you can purchase tea, coffee, bacon sandwiches, cakes, and vegan alternatives. It’s a great place to relax and wait for you friends to finish.
More about the Estate
Hamptons Estate is mainly agricultural which includes the growing of arable crops, vegetables and herbs together with the only commercial hop garden in Surrey.
The pedigree herd of Sussex Cattle is the mainstay of Hampton Naturally Reared Produce which includes top quality beef, game, sausages and pies sold direct from the estate locally.
The woodlands and commercial timber plantations are managed for both production and amenity value. The forestry products include chestnut fencing posts, firewood, logs and woodchip for sale direct from the estate.
Myrtle’s Courtyard at Hampton is a very pretty cluster of early Victorian farm buildings nestling in the historic parkland of the Hampton Estate. Myrtles Courtyard is used for a wide variety of functions and events. It lends itself to both small intimate family gatherings and to larger conferences and exhibitions. Seating 60 in conference style with a top table is popular.

2nd Farnham (Hale) Scouts
2nd Farnham (Hale) scouts are joint organisers of the Woodland Woggle. They manage the start/finish area, car parking, and supply tea, coffee, bacon sandwiches and cakes on race day to raise funds.
Boys and girls can join Beavers at 6 years, progress to Cubs at 8 and Scouts at 10½. After Scouts at 14 years they can join Explorer Scouts, finally moving to the Scout Network with its age range of 18 to 25 years. They learn many life skills along the way, with a great bearing on team work. Scout Leaders work as volunteers.
The Scouts, Beavers and Cubs are looking for much needed equipment to upgrade their scout hut on Hale Green.
